The Monteverde area, not far from Trastevere, is a quiet place, in the countryside (at the corner is Villa Pamphili, which is the “green lung” Rome’s largest behind Vatican City), where it is possible to be in contact with the daily life of the romans.
All services are around; transport, restaurants and pizzerias with good quality with “right” prices, markets and shopping, bars, excellent ice cream, restaurants and pizzerias.
The area is very well connected to the city center.
The historic center is easily reached by tram 8 that in 15 minutes will take you to piazza Argentina (the way to San Pietro, Castel Sant'Angelo, Vatican Museums, piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori) and piazza Venezia (for going to the Colosseo and Fori Imperiali, Basilica of Massenzio and Circo Massimo, via del Corso’s shopping street, piazza di Spagna and the stairs to Trinità dei Monti, piazza del Popolo, Fontana di Trevi, Quirinale, Villa Borghese) and 5 minutes to the famous sunday market of Porta Portese in a very few minutes in the neighborhood of Testaccio, and Piramide Cestia.
The stop bus of tram n. 8, is very close from the apartment.
In the direction of Venezia will take you 15-20 minutes in the center, along Trastevere, pasting Isola Tiberina and near the Sinagoga, Campo de’ Fiori and Largo di Torre Argentina (here there is the stop bus of a lot of buses to Basilica di San Pietro, Musei Vaticani and Castel Sant'Angelo), arriving finally at piazza Venezia from where start Fori Imperiali’s street at the end of witch there is the Colosseo.
In the opposite direction of the square, your way is in the direction of piazza di Spagna, piazza de Popolo etc.
The bus line H is a fast race that also involves the Quirinale, Palazzo delle Esposizioni and stops to Termini station.
Saint Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum are reachable also using for two stops a a train travelling from Tastevere station.

HOW TO GET
by CAR – FROM NORD. A1 - direction Milano-Napoli:leaving the highway from north of Rome, you have to take the direction of the G.R.A. (is a big ring highway all aroun the city) taking the direction EST (there are indications) direction Nomentana, Tiburtina, Tuscolana, after Appia there are still the Ardeatina (exit 24) and Laurentina (exit 25). (*) You have to exit at Fiumicino Airport (exit 30) direction CENTER (via della Magliana-Eur). This is the highway that connects Rome Fiumicino Airport to the CENTER of the city (via della Magliana-Eur).
The GATE TO EXIT is shown as VIA DELLA MAGLIANA/TRASTEVERE. Follow the signs and after the second traffic light go towards via Isacco Newton (climb back on the Rome Fiumicino airport in the opposite direction to the one you came from, but you'll have to turn right and following the signs by Isacco Newton). At this point you'll have to go straight ahead and never turn following the signs to viale dei Colli Portuensi and to Via di Monte Verde where you turn right, you arrive in Piazza Scotti and follow the roundabout.
Take the second right (Via di Val Tellina) to immediately turn the first left (via Datini) uphill, going straight, crossroads before via Duchessa di Galliera (continue straight on via Pietro D'Assisi) and then via Giberti. The next intersection is via Camillo De Lellis. At the intersection turn right: after all, the number 21 is the home “il melograno”.
