Where we are:

The Monteverde neighborhood is close to Trastevere, is well connected with Piazza Venezia, Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica and many other important sites.

The neighborhood
The Monteverde area, not far from Trastevere, is a quiet place, in the countryside (at the corner is Villa Pamphili, which is the “green lung” Rome’s largest behind Vatican City), where it is possible to be in contact with the daily life of the romans.
All services are around; transport, restaurants and pizzerias with good quality with “right” prices, markets and shopping, bars, excellent ice cream, restaurants and pizzerias.
The area is very well connected to the city center.

The historic center is easily reached by tram 8 that in 15 minutes will take you to piazza Argentina (the way to San Pietro, Castel Sant'Angelo, Vatican Museums, piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori) and piazza Venezia (for going to the Colosseo and Fori Imperiali, Basilica of Massenzio and Circo Massimo, via del Corso’s shopping street, piazza di Spagna and the stairs to Trinità dei Monti, piazza del Popolo, Fontana di Trevi, Quirinale, Villa Borghese) and 5 minutes to the famous sunday market of Porta Portese in a very few minutes in the neighborhood of Testaccio, and Piramide Cestia.
The stop bus of tram n. 8, is very close from the apartment.
In the direction of Venezia will take you 15-20 minutes in the center, along Trastevere, pasting Isola Tiberina and near the Sinagoga, Campo de’ Fiori and Largo di Torre Argentina (here there is the stop bus of a lot of buses to Basilica di San Pietro, Musei Vaticani and Castel Sant'Angelo), arriving finally at piazza Venezia from where start Fori Imperiali’s street at the end of witch there is the Colosseo.
In the opposite direction of the square, your way is in the direction of piazza di Spagna, piazza de Popolo etc.

The bus line H is a fast race that also involves the Quirinale, Palazzo delle Esposizioni and stops to Termini station.

Saint Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum are reachable also using for two stops a a train travelling from Tastevere station.

Follow the signs and after the second traffic light go towards via Isacco Newton (climb back on the Rome Fiumicino airport in the opposite direction to the one you came from, but you'll have to turn right and following the signs by Isacco Newton). At this point you'll have to go straight ahead and never turn following the signs to viale dei Colli Portuensi and to Via di Monte Verde where you turn right, you arrive in Piazza Scotti and follow the roundabout.
Take the second right (Via di Val Tellina) to immediately turn the first left (via Datini) uphill, going straight, crossroads before via Duchessa di Galliera (continue straight on via Pietro D'Assisi) and then via Giberti. The next intersection is via Camillo De Lellis. At the intersection turn right: after all, the number 21 is the home “il melograno”.

From Termini Station:

from Roma Termini you can take the direct bus line H that makes few stops. the bus terminal is located in the square, in front of the principal entrance of the Termini Station. You get off at the next stop to the San Camillo Hospital, go ahead to the post office, cross the street and you're here, at the beginning of Via Camillo De Lellis, at the end of the street you can see the house. If from Termini station, you want an alternative, you can get information on local trains, from Termini station, and take a train to Trastevere, but make sure that there is the stop at the Trastevere station because not all the train stop there. (From Trastevere station you had to take the tram n. 8 direction Casaletto for 3 stops).

from Fiumicino Airport you can be reached directly TO THE HOUSE “IL MELOGRANO” with the taxi for about €50.00. However we recommend using the train service, at a cost of €8,00 each person, who takes you comfortably to the Trastevere station from where, in the middle of the road, opposite the station, you had to take the tram n. 8 direction Casaletto that in a few (3) stops it can get you in the Largo Ravizza’s stop from where tke house “il melograno” is just 200 meters.

from Rome Ciampino Airport there are a lot of shuttle buses that lead to Termini station from where you can proceed as indicated in the previous section "how to get from Termini station".

A tour around:

Villa Doria Pamphili is the largest park in Rome (very close from the house), through which you get to the Gianicolo where you can appreciate one of the most scenic and well-known panorama of the center of Rome and it is located directly behind the famous "Fontanone".

On Sunday morning you can go to the market "Porta Portese", accessible by a short tram ride. The San Camillo Hospital, the largest in the city, is 100 meters from the home. But there are many other places that you can reach easily. A list can be found in the house when you arrive, so you'll be free to choose where to go and especially how to get there.
For those who love shopping there are two shopping streets nearby the house: via Jenner and Viale dei Colli Portuensi. Here you can find everything you need at different levels of quality.

Always a few steps from the house there are restaurants, pizzerias of good quality and also a pub "sandwiches" open until 2 am.
